Friction Disc Segments for Wind Turbines
Wind Turbines
Challenges
Simple and secure fixing of friction disc segments during assembly in connection with a retrofit – for the period when the bolted connection has not yet been re-tightened.
Solution
Permanent magnets in milled recesses.
Advantages
- Safe assembly/disassembly in the field (approx. 80 m height)
- Disassembled rotor is only tilted and lowered
- No need to cut threads for fixing screws in the safety-relevant flange structure.
DIAGRIP in Motorsport
Motorsport
Challenge
The connection between the triple clamp and fork tube is subjected to extreme loads in motorsport and should therefore be designed with the highest possible friction grip and torsional rigidity.
Solution
Use of bushings coated on both sides in the clamping area between the triple clamp and fork tube.
Advantages
- Significantly stiffer than series-production forks
- More precise handling in corners and during hard braking maneuvers
- Optimal force transmission in the clamping area between the triple clamp and fork tube
DIAGRIP in the Rail Industry

Challenges
The connection between the seat console and the car floor is subjected to extreme loads and should therefore be designed with the highest possible friction grip.
Solution
Use of DIAGRIP Friction Shims.

Transmission of forces and torques in functional systems for creating force-fit composite systems with bolted, press-fit, or flange connections.

Challenges
The bolted connections on the cars and rails are subjected to extreme loads during operation. For safety reasons, the greatest possible friction grip must be achieved.
Solution
Use of DIAGRIP-coated components
Advantages
- The increase in friction is achieved through DIAGRIP® dispersion coatings made of chemically or electrolytically deposited nickel and nickel-phosphorus layers with embedded diamonds (5 μm up to 55 μm).
