In particular, pumps and components used to convey abrasive media are subject to heavy wear stress. In addition to cavitation wear, abrasive wear caused by particle-laden liquid media also plays a significant role here.

For these heavy wear stresses, chemical nickel-diamond coatings have proven to be outstanding.

Ball plugs are effectively protected against corrosion and wear with chemical nickel coatings. For special friction requirements, a chemical nickel coating with embedded dry lubricants is used, which, in addition to outstanding wear resistance, also ensures very low friction values in use.

DIAPROTECT systems, based on extremely corrosion-resistant nickel layers and extremely high diamond content (> 60%) in thick layers (> 40µ), are the ultimate solution for heavy-duty wear protection.
