Coatings for Automation
Automation and Handling
In automation and handling technology, friction-increasing coatings such as DIAGRIP are an ideal solution for significantly increasing the transferable holding force of components, for example on grippers. Grippers or clamping devices are often either too small in surface area, or, due to the sensitivity of the components, cannot apply the clamping force required for safe handling.
With the DIAGRIP coating, the diamonds embedded in the layer help create a friction-locked, non-slip connection between the clamping device or gripper and the component. This ensures safe component handling and higher acceleration and deceleration torques for robotic arms or pick-and-place systems, even under demanding conditions. DIAGRIP coating systems are extremely durable in these applications and can be reworked at any time.
Clamping Systems
Clamping systems, such as those used in machine tools, often work on the principle of friction locking. If this friction lock fails, the clamped tool or component slips unintentionally. In these cases, CCT's friction-increasing coatings such as DIAGRIP have proven themselves for many years.
The outstanding properties of CCT coatings:
- Contour-accurate coating, even on geometrically complex components
- Compliance with the tightest layer thickness tolerances
- Homogeneous and reproducible solid particle incorporation
- Excellent corrosion protection

Development
Development for Automation and Handling
Applications in automation and handling often involve secure, friction-locked gripping functions combined with high acceleration and deceleration torques and, at the same time, limited contact surfaces. DIAGRIP coating systems are the solution to this problem.
Grippers and collets coated with DIAGRIP guarantee a secure, drop-proof handling process at high movement speeds. Components can be coated directly – including selectively – or fitted with DIAGRIP films.
